For the safety of your financial information, your credit card information is handled by PayPal, on PayPal's site. PayPal has been in the business of electronic payments for years. They're safe because they're experts on secure financial transactions.
Many small business websites have their own shopping carts and credit card acquisition systems. They look more "professional" handling the whole job on their own website, but who programmed their system? system. An "ecommerce contractor"? The website owner himself? The high school kid down the street? Even if they are great programmers, are they up to date computer security experts? PayPal is.
Most small businesses share a server with other businesses. Keeping your information invisible to other inhabitants of that server is almost impossible. PayPal, on the other hand, has their own server, buttoned up tight.
The bottom line is this. When you order from Troubleshooters.Com Bookstore, PayPal acquires your credit card information. Troubleshooters.Com does not take possession of it. We sleep better at night that way, and you will too.
You can pay for Troubleshooters.Com(R) books on PayPal without a PayPal account.
When you get to the checkout screen, you'll see a prompt saying something like "if you do not currently have a PayPal account, click here". The "click here" is a button on the screen I accessed. By clicking on that button, you'll be taken to a series of screens enabling you to pay with a credit card, without the need for a PayPal account, and without the need to create a PayPal account. Later in the sequence you'll be asked if you'd like to create a PayPal account, but you can simply decline to do so.
When asked if you'd like to create a PayPal account, simply decline unless you really want to create a PayPal account. Personally, I like having a PayPal account so people can pay me securely, but you needn't create one if you don't wish to.
Depending on the speed of your internet connection and the load on the PayPal servers, a few seconds might ellapse between your clicking of an "Add to Cart" or "View Cart" button and the appearance of the PayPal shopping cart displaying the Troubleshooters.Com(R) Bookstore merchandise you've selected. Do not re-click the button until you've waited at least 10 seconds.
The only exception to clicking only once is if you actually want multiple copies of the same book. Even then, the easier method is to change the quantity on the shopping cart page and then click the "Update Cart" button.
If you inadvertently double click a button, you can quickly solve the problem on the shopping cart page by changing the quantity or checking the "Remove" box, and then clicking the "Update Cart" button.
Both the home phone number and email address fields are optional on the credit card submission page. However, without contact information, if there's a problem fulfilling your order, including a temporary out of stock condition, we will have no choice but to refund your order and not ship the merchandise.
NOTE: The phone number acquired by PayPal itself is required, but it is not passed on to Troubleshooters.Com. Instead, it's retained by PayPal in case there are problems with the credit card. In order to provide Troubleshooters.Com with your phone number, you must either write it in on a later screen, or on that later screen click the radio button to send the phone number you gave PayPal to Troubleshooters.Com.
The PayPal shopping cart system is one of the easiest to use. However, if you have any problems ordering Troubleshooters.Com(R) books, we will work with you, either by walking you through a special credit card ordering procedure, or if necessary by helping you pay by check.
We ship promptly and almost never run out of inventory, but if you have any problems what so ever with our delivery, we will work them out to your satisfaction, including providing you with a refund if necessary.
